Thomas Barnes & Sons PLC has been shortlisted for a prestigious award at the North West Regional Construction Awards 2009 by the Centre for Construction Innovation.

Durran Hill Police HQ in Carlisle has been nominated for the Environmental Sustainability Award and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place at Southport Theatre & Convention Centre on 21st May 2009.

The £7 million Design & Build project is BREEAM Excellent rated and represents the largest capital investment in the police authority's history. It has already received magnificent reviews from the Chief Superintendant and has been labelled one of the greenest and most dramatic police buildings the country has seen.

Thomas Barnes & Sons PLC is delighted to have been shortlisted and has also been nominated under the Community Benefit category for Tuebrook Childrens Centre in the RICS North West Awards 2009. Previously Thomas Barnes & Sons plc has been the winner of Best Partnering Project at the Liverpool Daily Post Regional Property Awards 2008.
